Frequently Asked Questions

No, you are welcome to attend even if you are not directly affected by dementia. Although Emmaus Village is a dementia-specific village, we acknowledge the countless members of our community who have been a part of the Emmaus Village journey, both with and without a lived experience of dementia. As the saying goes, it takes a village!

All activities, tours and information sessions are free. A BBQ lunch will be provided for a gold coin donation. If you prefer something more substantial to eat or drink, our new onsite café, Breaking Bread, will be open to the public for purchases.

Absolutely! Emmaus Village is a community and we welcome people of all ages to attend. From arts and craft to music to gardening activities (and even a chicken-naming competition!) there will be something for everyone.

There is a carpark at Emmaus, however, this is a shared carpark for staff and visitors to Emmaus Home and Emmaus Village so there is limited availability. If there is no availability in the carpark, please park on the road. Please be mindful that Emmaus Village is in a residential area and any cars parked over driveways will be towed.

While we appreciate the love and companionship our four-legged friends bring, we kindly request that attendees do not bring pets to the event unless they are a service or support animal.

Our Client Relationship and Recruitment teams will be available on the day to assist you with any queries regarding applying to live, work, or volunteering at Emmaus Village. In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us on (02) 8201 1000.

Emmaus Village is a level site that allows the use of wheelie-walkers, mobility scooters, and other mobility aids as required. Information sessions will be on level one of the community centre, which is accessible by stairs or elevator.

Please note Emmaus Village also has a transporter buggy, however, access to use this will be limited.
