Emmaus Village staff work collaboratively as a team to bring joy and excitement through activities aligned to each person’s individual preferences, with the sole aim of enabling our Villagers to live their best life.
Home Companions play a key role in day-to-day life at Emmaus Village and partner with volunteers, families and Villagers in daily activities such as preparing meals, shopping, undertaking laundry or attending the garden - providing choice in daily routines.

The thoughtful layout of streets that meander their way around beautifully landscaped gardens, pathways and thoroughfares of the village provide easy access to the community centre, a social hub where Villagers can enjoy activities with family and friends.

Our small-town, small-house environment has been purposefully designed to empower Villagers to remain active and socialise as they participate in community life. Living in their house with other Villagers, supported by Home Companions, provides familiarity, comfort and stimulation.
Specially themed, home-like environments are replicated and comprise seven or eight individual and private resident bedrooms with their own ensuites, a shared fully functioning kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry and outdoor areas.
Rural.
Rural decor designed to bring the outdoors in uses natural materials, earthy colours, and textures to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The focus is on simplicity and rustic beauty allowing connection to the natural world.
Coastal.
Our coastal living decor embraces a sea change and emphasises natural marine and nautical elements with calming blues, greens, and neutrals. It’s clean, bright, and perfect for creating a vacation-inspired ambience.
Township.
Sleek and stylish ambience with urban decor, featuring modern and contemporary elements. A functional and fashionable look incorporating colours, fabrics, textures, patterns, finishes, flooring, furniture, art, and other design elements.

Villagers’ health needs are addressed through the Health and Wellness team at the onsite Wellness Centre, home to our nurses, visiting GPs and Allied Health Professionals.
Emmaus Village fosters a supportive environment for the family and friends of our Villagers. Family and friends play an important role to those living with dementia and we encourage them to continue to participate in day-to-day activities as much as they wish.
The style of living at Emmaus Village provides the freedom for Villagers to choose the types of activities that suit them. Home Companions will enable and encourage Villagers to participate in activities and support them to maintain independence and normalcy of daily life.

As part of our commitment to enabling the best quality of life for our Villagers, we have integrated an innovative assessment into our admissions process to ensure we are considering more than just clinical needs. This approach, embedded in extensive qualitative and quantitative research, will ensure our Villagers connect with activities, people, and a home environment that aligns with their values, ultimately leading to an enhanced quality of life.
Each prospective Villager, accompanied by their family, will have the opportunity to meet with our Dementia Support Consultant and respond to questions that provide a deeper understanding of their individual preferences, beliefs, and culture.
By understanding each individual's unique profile, we aim to create a truly person-centred experience, setting us apart from conventional aged care homes and enriching the lives of those we serve.
