Volunteer opportunties
Are you passionate about gardening and love nurturing nature’s beauty? Working in our village ‘Potting Shed’, you will enable our residents to bring life and colour to outdoor spaces. Fostering a sense of tranquillity and connecting with the outdoors you will enjoy creating a vegetable patch and potting plants whilst sharing your skills and knowledge with our villagers.

Whether you are skilled tradesperson or a handy enthusiast with DIY skills, you can share your passion by guiding and collaborating with our village residents in the Emmaus Village ‘Workshop’. Engage in interactive activities, teach new skills and techniques and create a welcoming and social atmosphere. Enable our residents to actively participate and take pride in their work, under your guidance.
Share your love of arts and crafts with our villagers. Your patient and friendly nature will enable you to truly engage and to pass on your creative skills. Whether you have talents in painting, sewing or any other form of artistic endeavours, you will have the opportunity to facilitate art-related projects and recreational activities that promote social interaction, and emotional wellbeing.
The perfect volunteering role for a true people person. Your bubbly personality, caring nature and desire to help will see you thrive in this unique customer service role. You will assist our residents with any day to day questions or queries they have, gently guide them to our various community areas and assist the Activities and Events Coordinator as required. Bring your ready smile and helping hand to this supportive role.
Bring the magic of music to our villager’s hearts through soul-stirring performances on your instrument or captivating vocal renditions. Host interactive music sessions, where residents can sing along, clap their hands or dance, immersing themselves in the delightful world of melodies. Share your love of music and create cherished memories through your talent and warm presence.

Frequently asked questions.
We encourage volunteers to stay for a minimum period of one year, to make full use of the training and support offered and give them time to build a relationship with the residents. Depending on the needs of the residents, volunteers commit to visit on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, as agreed with the Volunteer Manager.
All volunteers are provided training, orientation and on-going support.
To volunteer at Emmaus Village you will need a current National Criminal History Records Clearance (St Agnes’ Parish will support you to obtain this); vaccinations in accordance with Parish policy and/or applicable Public Health Orders; NDIS Worker Check or the ability to obtain one (St Agnes’ Parish will support you to obtain this).
