Emmaus Village held its inaugural residents’ art exhibition in their Community Centre conference room from Friday 21 March to Saturday 29 March. The success of the event, which was organised with very short lead time, surprised everyone with over 300 visitors attending.

The week-long exhibition featured a range of artwork by some very talented residents and a retrospective of works by well-known local artist (and Emmaus Village resident) Henry Field, curated by Virginia and Graeme Cox.

Visitors also enjoyed getting involved in fun creative activities, such as drawing a face without lifting the pen and cutting up a photo and rearranging it Picasso style, as well as joining in the hunt to find the answers for the Lucky Dip quiz.

Thank you to everyone involved, especially Cath Robinson and Brad Witten from Emmaus Village, Liz Field, Virginia and Graeme Cox, Alison Board and the Bonny Hills Progress Association, for their assistance with this wonderful event. A special thanks, also, to the residents who shared their talent, and to all the people who came to visit the exhibition
