Emmaus Village’s very own ‘artist in residence’, Henry Field, recently hosted a delightful morning tea for his long-time friends from the Port Macquarie Art and Craft Centre. The gathering, held on site in May at the cozy Breaking Bread Café, was a heartwarming reunion filled with laughter, creativity, and shared memories.
Henry, a member of the Art and Craft Centre for many years, had regularly attended Wednesday drawing classes until recently. Now, he finds daily inspiration within the peaceful surroundings of Emmaus Village, where his artistic spirit continues to flourish.
The morning tea was a special occasion for Henry, who welcomed guests with warmth and pride. Attendees were treated not only to delicious refreshments but also to a personal tour of some of Henry’s artworks that now grace the walls of Emmaus Village.
“I was happy to show my friends where I live and create now,” Henry shared. His fellow artists were equally delighted, expressing admiration for both Henry’s work and the beautiful, nurturing environment he now calls home. “Henry is very lucky to be in such a lovely place,” one guest remarked. It’s clear he’s thriving here.”
The gathering was a touching reminder of the enduring power of friendship, creativity, and community and how these are valued at Emmaus Village.
