Pat Conaghan, Member for Cowper, visits Emmaus Village.

It was a pleasure to show Mr Pat Conaghan, Member for Cowper, around Emmaus Village and through two of the homes which have recently been furnished.

In 2021, Pat was instrumental in securing $6.5 million in Federal funding to assist St Agnes’ Catholic Parish with the construction of Emmaus Village, a world-leading dementia community in Port Macquarie.

This funding, combined with $5 million funding from the former NSW Government to support the construction of the Emmaus Village Community Centre which includes a café, wellness centre, music room and other amenities, was pivotal in ensuring the Parish could fulfil its commitment to improving the lives of those in our community living with dementia.

Emmaus Village will be opening in April 2024.
